Benjamin Franklin Desk
H - 41" W - 41 1/2" D - 22"
This fine desk is from the Independence Hall Collection by Kittinger. The Kittinger Company was appointed to manufacture and licensed to sell furniture reproductions from the Independence Park collection. Furniture in the reproduction collection is exactly reproduced from the original or is an approved adaptation.
Solid mahogany with mis-matched crotch veneer drawer faces, faithfully reproduced including secret compartment. The desk is transitional in style between American Queen Anne and Chippendale.
The original is circa 1750, ownership by Benjamin Franklin is well documented. The original is on display at Franklin Court in Philadelphia.
