Neoclassical Oval Looking Glass

Glass 15.5" x 25.5"; Overall size 22" x 49.5"

Based on an English antique of about1790, this intricately detailed piece demonstrated the interest in classical motifs by the urn finial and the lightly scaled gilt wood frame.  The oval form was highly fashionable in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries.
