Dining Room Table
Copied from a handsome solid mahogany table in the collection of the Williamsburg Foundation. The original was made in the late eighteenth century in England. Heavy legs and turnings from single pieces of solid mahogany; legs hand dovetailed into post and further strengthened at bottom by hand made iron brace. Post turnings are tenoned through two inch top support block and made permanently tight by handmade wedges. Table tops can tilt, making for easy storage in a corner or against a wall when not in use. Table tops lock into position by brass catches
